KSoftTools ("we", "our", "us") builds software tools for schools and businesses. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.
1. The Short Version
We do not collect, store, or share your school's data. Everything you enter into K-SchoolDesk stays on your own computer. We have no access to it. We do not run any cloud servers that process your students, fees, attendance, or any other operational data.
2. What We Do Not Collect
The following data never leaves your computer and is never sent to us:
- Student records, names, photos, or personal information
- Fee collection records, receipts, or financial data
- Attendance data
- Exam marks, results, or report cards
- Staff records and salary information
- School settings, logo, or account details
- Any other information entered into the K-SchoolDesk application
3. What We Do Collect
We only collect the following minimal information:
3.1 Website Visitors
- Anonymous analytics: If we use analytics on this website, it is anonymous (aggregate page views, browser type). We do not track individual visitors.
- Contact information you send us: When you contact us via WhatsApp, phone, or email, we receive the information you choose to share (your name, school name, city, phone number, and message). We use this only to respond to your inquiry.
3.2 Licensed Customers
- Device identifier: When you activate K-SchoolDesk, your computer generates a unique Device ID (a hash of your hardware and system information). This identifier is used to generate your license key. It does not contain any personal information.
- Contact information: The name, phone number, and email you provide when purchasing a license.
- Payment information: If you pay us, we receive confirmation of payment, but we do not store your bank details or card numbers. Payments are handled through your bank, Easypaisa, or JazzCash directly.
4. How We Use the Information We Collect
- To generate your license key
- To send you renewal reminders before your license expires
- To provide technical support if you contact us
- To notify you about critical updates or security fixes
We do not sell, rent, or share your contact information with any third party.
5. Your Data, Your Control
Your operational data (students, fees, attendance, exams, etc.) is stored locally on your computer. You have full control over it. You can:
- Back it up to any location you choose (your computer, USB, external drive, or cloud folder)
- Delete it at any time
- Export reports to Excel
- Move it to a different computer (using our backup and restore feature)
6. Data Security
We take reasonable measures to protect the information we hold:
- Your contact information is stored securely and only accessible to us.
- Your Device ID is a one-way hash — it cannot be reversed to reveal your hardware details.
- Your license key uses cryptographic signatures that cannot be forged.
- The K-SchoolDesk application is protected against tampering and unauthorized access.
7. Data Retention
- Contact inquiries: We retain them for as long as needed to respond and follow up. You can request deletion at any time.
- License records: We keep a record of your license (Device ID, expiry date, name) for as long as your license is active, so we can send renewal reminders and provide support.
- Payment records: Kept for the period required by Pakistani tax and business regulations.
8. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services, each with its own privacy policy:
- WhatsApp: When you contact us on WhatsApp, WhatsApp's privacy policy applies to that conversation.
- Web hosting: Our website is hosted on a cloud provider (Cloudflare Pages). They handle website traffic but do not receive any student or school data.
- Fonts: This website uses Google Fonts. Google may log your IP address when loading fonts.
9. Cookies
This website does not use cookies for tracking. We may use local browser storage for minimal functionality (such as remembering your menu state). No personal data is stored in cookies.
10. Children's Privacy
K-SchoolDesk is intended for use by school administrators and staff. It is not intended for direct use by children. Student data entered into the software stays on your computer and is not accessible to us.
11. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Request a copy of any personal information we hold about you
- Request correction of any incorrect information
- Request deletion of your contact information from our records
- Withdraw consent for us to contact you (this may affect our ability to provide support)
